Top Five Reasons I Won’t Post Top Tens

In response to the fad created by Nies and Brenden, I present you my list. I'm not saying that everyone else should stop, just providing my reasons for not joining in. Enjoy!

5. I can like things without feeling an incessant need to rank them like Nies
4. Writing them takes too much time
3. VH1 does a good job ranking everything possible and making a 4-hour show out of it
2. I’m too lazy to go all the way to ten
1. I’m so indy I don’t even listen to music

Indy, huh? Isn't that like NASCAR . . .?

It just shows that I'm so indy that I even spell indie differently.

Hilarious!

If Nies's next pathological request for others to rank things does not include something that's not a transient pop-culture reference, I'm boycotting as well.

Sheesh!

Hehehe, I'm sure he would, but he's not exaggerating when he said he really doesn't listen to music... unless you count NPR transition instrumentals like Peter and the Wolf. :)

I think Kristin has really "hit the nail on the head." I bought David a Star Trek cd once and I don't even think he opened it. David simply doesn't listen to music...so unless we're ranking Christmas songs, he's probably out. ;)

Further reason to not rank transient pop-culture, eh?

Surely, if we must rank, there are things to rank other than entertainment?

Brenden- It has nothing to do with whether Eric originated the idea, but you do help remove some of the taint.
Kristin- Yes, I would prefer to listen to news/talk radio or watch TV than listen to music.
Clarissa- I have actually listened to the CD. And although Christmas music is the only genre I've taken the time to download, I couldn't even rank that because of reasons 5,4, & 2.
Everyone- Music is something that I don't have much passion for, so I both have a low threshold for music that I’ll listen to and also no music that I love to listen to.
Kennon- What would you propose to rank? Maybe if you come up with something interesting, and limit it to 5, I’ll considering joining in.

I say Top 5 US Presidents - it smacks of political discussion, which I enjoy in the blogging world a great deal.

However, ideally, I think the best discussion would be prompted by 2 sets of top 5 - the top 5 presidents from your own political party (or its immediate precursors) and the top 5 from the other political parties.

Top 5 Presidents:
1. TJ
2. GW
3. Abe
4. James Knox Polk
5. Ronnie

Disclosure: I'm registered independent.

Addendum:

6. Bubba: you can fault him for his sexual overzealousness--and his comfortable relationship with dishonesty--but those were 8 of the best years in American history in terms of prosperity and security. Plus, he was just a cool guy. I'd like to hang with Slick Willie.

I don't have a blog... I'm going to put my list here on your website. What can I say... I'm a leach.
1. Linclon
2. FDR
3. Washington
4. Teddy Roosevelt
5. Harry Truman
I actually just took a history class and we talked a lot about Presidential rankings. I'm not a very political person... at all. I'm also independant. These are just presidents I liked policies and actions of. I don't 100% support any of their actions.

I guess I didn't word that right... I do 100% support some of their decisions... I just don't 100% support ALL of their decisions.
